The process of making architecture is a weaving of overlaid networks made up of text, sketch, physical and digital model, discussion, collaboration, experience and precedent.

It is an evolution of concept that begins to find its own independent life and direction through testing, critique and prototype. It is a collaborative search that holds back over-determinism and wilfulness, creating a space for the concept to develop its own life, often with surprising results. But it is also a process that demands rigour, discipline and the avoidance of the peripheral distraction and inessential.
